| Startup Click the +
to - on the Programs
folder, then look for a folder called Startup.
I use AOL,
so it is showing on mine.
This enables it
to show in the Tool Bar area,
next to the Start button.
Look
at the programs listed there & determine what
you do or do not need. You're done.
:)
To see the
changes, you will have to reboot your system.
Then after it fully boots, you can press the
control alt & delete buttons, all at the same
time. Becareful in doing this, only do it 1 time,
pushing all 3 keys again, or a 2nd time will
restart your computer.
Look
& see what you have loading now. It is a
necessity to have Explorer &
Systray. I also show a file
called Em_exec, which is a part
of my mouse. I have an AV (Anti Virus) program
that loads 2 files.
InoculateIT <~click for their
site...free AV software for home users.
Great
programs, & free updates, just register.
Please read their FAQ's & be sure not to have
another AV program installed on your system, they
will conflict.
The
following link may help you determine what the
programs are.
Commonly known
TSR's
Note: The files or
icons that you find are a part of the program(s)
that are loading in Windows. You can determine
whether or not you want these loading, depending
on your system. I, personally, only keep FPxpress
& Notepad running.
Before you remove any of these, please be sure
that you know what the program is & what it's
function is. As well as making sure that it's a
shortcut. Do this by right click on the program
or Icon select Properties, & it will tell you
what it is. Now you determine what to do with it.
Caution:
If it is a program, it should be left alone or
dealt with from the program itself.
